I am interested in the two big remaining questions: the nature of conscious experience and the nature of the fundamental elements of physics.

Three hundred years ago Gottfried Leibniz explained why these questions should have a single answer. I think he was right, but the full significance of his work is only now  beginning to become clear.

I am also interested in the origin of species, particularly in birds. I suspect that the biophysics of experience plays a crucial role.

These interests interlock via a hypothesis that links fundamental physics and conscious experience within the structure of living cells (Experience as a Property of Individual Cells).

I am, independently, interested in the challenge posed to biology by the illness myalgic encephalomyelitis/ chronic fatigue syndrome.
